A century has passed since they arrived. Human history has been erased. Children are enslaved on Alien plantations. Some have heard whispers of the existence of a rebel band of humans who roam free in the forests. Most slaves dare not speak of the rebels for fear the mutant guards will grab and make an example of them.

Seventeen-year-old Freya is pulled away in the night not by the mutants, but by her old friend Finn, to join the Saviors, the mythic band of rebel teens. Her bliss fades when she discovers she is the only Savior without a special ability. She is the odd one out, slowly pushing Finn away, defying Damian, the leader of the Saviors, and antagonizing the fierce and beautiful Daphne. In her despair Freya reaches deep within to discover a dark destiny, a truth so heavy it threatens to destroy her.

"The Dark Legion" (Book 2 of The Plantation) is now also available!

He wanted to save her. He got it all wrong.

Carl is the only one left. All Beth's friends were sad when she fell into a coma two years ago at the age of fourteen. But life moved on, and so did they. Except Carl. He still comes to see her. He still visits two to three times a week, talking to her and hoping she will wake.

Her mother, Marie, is insane. She stares constantly through a thick haze of cigarette smoke at Carl whenever he visits Beth, watching him, evaluating, plotting.

Marie knows the truth. She knows why Beth is in that coma. She knows it was Rex, Beth's father, who did it. She knows he hired a witch to cast a spell on her Pretty Princess until she is old enough to marry, until his hand-picked protégé wakes her with True Love's First Kiss.

But if whomever Rex chooses can break the curse, then so can Carl. He's loved Beth since he first met her in Sixth Grade. Marie knows. She has a plan. And maybe she's not as crazy as everyone thinks.

First, though, she'll have to convince Carl to believe in magic. Then she'll have to encourage him to defy Rex. That won't be easy. Rex hates Carl. He put Beth into that coma to keep Carl away from her. And Rex has a wicked temper.

Marie is determined, though. She's going to get her Sleeping Beauty back. And Carl is going to help . . . whether he likes it or not.

Can True Love's First Kiss really break the curse, or are darkness, insanity, and self-doubt too strong?

Set in modern times.

“An epidemic of missing dwarves plagued Nodlon. Every dwarf feared for his life, and everyone else thought the dwarves ran away to escape the hopelessness of living life under a contract. But the Dragon Lord and his greatest servant, Nimrod had crossed time and space to invade our world. Nimrod possessed a hapless dwarf snared by temptation and he became the Black Dwarf. The wicked warlock kidnapped dwarves, mesmerized them, and turned them into an army of zombies to serve the Dragon’s will.”

“Jack, who are you talking to?”

“Shush, Shotgun, I’m explaining our adventure to the Gentle Readers.”

“To stem the tide of runaway dwarves, the Princess of Nodlon resolved to free the dwarves and recruited Cretaceous Jack Clay, celebrity elf and magician extraordinaire, to help her raise support. But before anyone could cry, ‘Biots are people too,’ Nodlon Yard discovered the constellation of Capricorn on the vid screen of a missing dwarf maiden drawn in blood. Inspector Lestrayed called upon his friend, Jack Clay, an amateur sleuth and expert on the paranormal to help solve the mystery. Freedom had to wait while Jack Clay hunted a pair of foes older than history. So began the strange and quirky odyssey of Clay, Jack Clay.”

“Laying it on a bit thick aren’t you? You’re not the only who saved Nodlon! Tell them about me.”

“Shush! You’re the comic relief, Shotgun, in case things get too serious,” huffed Jack. “And so Jack and Shotgun began their heroic adventure.”

“Oh, brother,” moaned Shotgun. “You need a copywriter, Jack, someone skilled enough to condense seven volumes of historical fiction onto a bumper sticker.”

“Always a critic, you are. Yes, you can hack a network, kung fu a bad guy, and bake a soufflé all at once, but can you let me think?”

“Don’t hurt yourself.”

“Together, Jack and his intrepid sidekick save Nodlon from the Black Dwarf. Cretaceous Clay is a light romp during the days before the Gap when the legendary hero Jack Clay, that’s me, saved Nodlon.”

“Like they forgot,” muttered Shotgun.

“Now, I’m totally lost. I’ll need an editor,” Jack banged his head on the recorder. “Cretaceous Clay is a nostalgic, science-fiction story with a warm homage to classic Sci-Fi, fantasy, and television.”

“So tell them what they’re in for if they read the book. Tell them about Jazz, and Goldie, Faith and Hope.”

“Shotgun, our loved ones only have bit parts.” Jack sighed, “Our story is an action adventure with affectionate characters who never let you down, unrequited romance, kind hearts, flying cars, and biots.”

“Great, it sounds sweet, delightful, and easy-going. It’s too perfect. The book police will demand a warning, ‘May cause a sugar rush.’”

“Shotgun! It’s supposed to be suitable for kids of all ages.”

“Why not, ‘And so the magician boldly fights a foe no magician has fought before?’”

“Trite.”

“Not like you’re doing any better. All right, what about, ‘Biots are people too.’”

FOUR'S A CROWD is about three very different characters that are thrown together in life's absurd tapestry. Jack, at just 17, has spent a lifetime in care, is socially awkward, and has fallen prey to a nasty drug dealer. His life on the streets is cold, lonely and miserable until he meets Chairman (or at least he thinks that's his name). Chairman is a clueless but lovable tramp, with no memory whatsoever, but who speaks with a ""Made in Chelsea"" accent.

These two vulnerable souls sense the need in each other and form an oddball friendship, which gives them the courage to leave their present ragged existence, and search for the answers to their questions.
When they land in Manchester, they hear an altercation on the canal bank, when a young gypsy girl "Sky" is struggling with a strange man who is attempting to drag her into the bushes. Chairman instantly becomes a Ninja type superhero, and karate chops the girl free from her abductor. When they return to Sky's camp, her family have disappeared, so 15 year old Sky then becomes the third member of their lost, confused and unorthodox little family.

Now the tumultuous adventure really begins. Chairman's true identity plunges them into a murder mystery, Jack reveals a unique and incredible gift, and Sky uncovers an eidetic memory, hitherto unknown to her. The trio battle a narcissistic neuroscientist "Dr Rhinehart" whose intention is to control and manipulate the minds of all he experiments on. Murder, illusion, lies and deceit, are the threads that eventually tie all of their muddled histories together and finally, threaten their sanity and their lives.

A young woman's search for her estranged father, raises unwanted demons from the past and more adventure than either of them could have imagined. Especially dedicated by this best selling author to his daughters, this unforgettable, dramatic and moving novel will stay with you long after the last page is turned.

Nikki Kimble was brought up by her mother in the lap of luxury, with every conceivable material thing she could ever want, except for the presence and love of her father Jake, a former bestselling author who disappeared from her life when she was three years old. All she has are fleeting memories and a romantic notion of him gleaned from the central character in his novels.

On the death of her mother, Nikki decides to search for her father, and when she finds him, drunk on board a battered yacht in the Florida Keys her shattered illusions turn to anger. Demons from the past threaten to overtake them both as they embark on an intensely personal journey of self-discovery.

As father and daughter face-off in an emotionally charged atmosphere, adrift on a leaking yacht in the middle of a massive storm, their fury, sadness and sense of loss is countered by that mysterious and precious bond that exists between a father and a daughter, and a deep seated human need for love, belonging and new beginnings. Their only hope for the future is by healing the past. But the burning question remains. Will the truth really set them free, or will it create so much pain that it shatters them into tiny pieces, never to be whole again?

This dramatic and inspirational novel explores universal themes of family relationships, love, hate, betrayal, self-realisation and the power and strength of the Human Spirit to overcome seemingly impossible obstacles that Life places in our way.

"...AFN Clarke captures a father and daughter reconciliation in a poignant, gripping and heartfelt way. It's a story which mirrors the journey many of us take in life ... As a reader I felt both challenged and uplifted by this book... I highly recommend it." 5 Stars, Roma Gaster.

AFN Clarke is the bestselling author of CONTACT (nonfiction) and various works of fiction: An Unquiet AmericanDry Tortugas, The Book of Baker series (Dreams from the Death Age; Armageddon; Genesis Revisited), Collisions and the Thomas Gunn suspense series coming soon .

And that is just the beginning. But what do you expect when you are a young beast who just can’t see the stupid rules of the world making any sense? Helga can’t accept things as they are and ends up taking on not just one, but two all-powerful, supreme tyrants in two different realms.

Helga never intended to lead a revolution. It just sort of happened because she wouldn’t go along with the “rules of normal” that keep tyrants in power and entire societies enslaved. Beginning on a dangerous quest to solve some mysteries in her own past, Helga leads her quirky comrades on a journey that will not only forever change them, but upset ancient civilizations.

As an author, I’m drawn to eccentric, unexpected characters: those who surprise because they hear a distant galaxy, see a different music, create their own fragrance rather than get hooked on a soundtrack; the child who has her own ideas about how the emperor is dressed; the lunatics and rebels who tell stories on the boundaries. Helga’s unusual story will take readers to worlds they never imagined—definitely a whole new ride.

Time and again, the unconventional heroine and her eccentric comrades overcome ominous tyrants and black-hearted slavers, not by battling to the last beast standing, but by being the first beast to think differently.

Helga: Out of Hedgelands is divided into three books which introduce the epic saga of the Wood Cow clan and their role in overturning centuries of slavery and tyranny. This story will continue in additional volumes of the Wood Cow Chronicles now in development. Over the series of current and future volumes, the entire history of the Wood Cow clan, the fall of Maev Astuté, and the coming of Lord Farseeker to the Outer Rings, will be told.

As a reflection on the global aftermath of climate change, The Spirit of Life brings a compelling message to take heed about planting bad seeds that will reap a storm. Written by Bjarke Steen Rasmussen, with co-authors Anine Ross and Karnika E. Yashwant (Mr KEY), this docudrama focuses on the balance of life and death. The mission of the main characters is to save the earth from the effects of a ""diminishing"" sun within less than 30 hours of this realization. Without each other's help and each one's fortitude, the battle for earth's redemption would be lost.
This story, although written in fiction style, is based on real events which have been occurring all over the world due to neglect and abuse of earth's natural resources. Three youngsters and two adults from West Virginia will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions from amazement on ""Forest Fire"", old flame rekindled in ""Amie and Josh"", sweet young love in ""A Stitch in Time"", and mystery in a cuckoo bird and dreams connecting to the past. The Spirit of Things delivers a positive figure in Heraia Lowrie, who must walk the path of desolation to complete her mission in the novel. Her wholesome, lovable and budding powers endear her to all.

The Spirit of Things is populated by people as ordinary as American Pie and pumpkins on Halloween Day. The cast of characters includes Heraia Lowrie - the girl with power over forces of nature; Manuel Pinero - Heraia's admirer; Jose Pinero- the anti-hero and another admirer of Heraia; Joshua Bofard, a local news reporter and Amalinda Porter, Josh lady-love. The refreshing and innocent character of the heroine repeatedly collides with the selfishness and weaknesses of the two boys as they find themselves in a constant tug-of-war for Heraia.

The Fertility Rite sketch launches the mystery that unfolds to reveal a deeper meaning to all events. News events and cast of characters are juxtaposed to move as if connected by unseen threads. The Spirit of Things is not only conceived to entertain, but to serve as a lighthouse in the midst of national tragedy due to conspiracies, hurricanes and climate change. The characters show how to be a hero in as few as two steps, as they learn to trust one another.

By coincidence, Hurricane Sandy blew into town on the same month of the novel's conception by the three authors. Such events as the torrent of rains, the flooding, lost of lives and properties were included in the book for realism and reference to actual events. A map is provided so readers can trace the events as they happen, also a scrapbook of particular events through the camera of Virginia news reporter Joshua Bofard and sketches of Jose Pinero, the refugee from San Salvador. A very precise quote that runs through all the characters and events is this double-edged quotation:

""Faith consists in believing when it is beyond the power of reason to believe. -Voltaire"
